95 % Expressway Ready as Dholera Gears Up for Semicon City

The Gujarat’s Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel conducted a visit to the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) for a thorough, comprehensive on-site review of ongoing infrastructure and industrial development projects. Our CM visit highlights the state government’s strong commitment to establishing Dholera as India’s leading smart industrial hub and future Semicon City.

Chief Advisor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, and other senior officials accompanied Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel. The site visit is part of his larger plan to directly track the status of important Dholera development projects across India and provide executing authorities with direct guidance.

Major Infrastructure Milestone

Kuldeep Arya, the CEO of Dholera SIR and Managing Director of Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd. (DICDL), gave a comprehensive update on multiple projects during a review meeting at Dholera with Shri Bhupendra Patel.

  • 95% of the Ahmedabad-Dholera expressway is complete, which is an essential link between Gujarat’s capital and a growing industrial hotspot.
  • Completion of basic ready-to-use infrastructure, including water treatment plants, road networks, and underground utilities.
  • Completed construction on a 300 MG solar park development in Gujarat’s clean energy targets.
  • Completion of the ABCD Building, which is a representation of intelligent infrastructure for government.


Ongoing Social and Industrial Development

The Chief Minister got a meeting on many expected initiatives under active development:

  • The commercial railway line of Bhimnath-Dholera
  • A 192-bed hospital, necessary school up to 12th standard, fire station and residential accommodation for investors and employees.
  • Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel personally visited numerous construction sites and made a point of ensuring that these initiatives were completed in a timely manner and of high quality.


Establishing India as a Semiconductor Hub:

The Gujarat government is diligently working to convert Dholera Smart City into a comprehensive Semicon City, aligning with PM Narendra Modi’s future vision of establishing India as a global leader in semiconductors. The development of this location encompasses a comprehensive semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

The Chief Minister of Gujarat reviews the progress of the Tata Electronics semiconductor plant, currently under construction in Dholera. He visited the company officials to review timelines, production objectives, and support infrastructure.

A review station was held where twelve developers currently working in Dholera SIR presented their progress and defined their future plans.

The Status of Dholera International Airport

The review meeting of Shri Bhupendra Patel additionally highlighted the Dholera International Airport, where the construction of the cargo building, terminal, and runway is progressing with an investment of 1,350 crore.

His visit stimulated teams on the ground and strengthened the government’s commitment to strategic, long-term growth through sustainable and advanced infrastructure. People view his leadership as crucial in propelling Gujarat’s ascent as a global leader in the semiconductor and green industry segment. Authorities, including Principal Secretaries Mamta Verma and Mona Khandhar, Advisor S.S. Rathore, and senior district officers, participated in the review and highlighted the collaborative efforts across multiple departments that are driving Dholera’s transformation.
