Governance of the Development and Regulatory Authority (RDA) for SIRs
- The State Government will establish an RDA for each SIR designated by it
- The RDA will be a legal entity.
- The State Government is also authorized to appoint any Government agency or a government company to serve as the
RDA. - The RDA will consist of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, CEO, and up to eleven members, all of whom will be appointed by the Government. It will include both official and non-official members, along with experts in relevant fields.
Key Powers and Functions of the D-RDA
- To develop the land use plan, town planning scheme, and development plan for the SIR.
- To oversee, monitor, control, and ensure the orderly development of the SIR.
- To establish infrastructure and public amenities.
- To acquire land, manage properties, and handle the sale, lease, and transfer of properties, including land.
- To enter into contracts with unit holders and developers.
- To impose and collect fees and user charges, and regulate development activities.
- To eliminate unauthorized construction and encroachments, handling all on-ground activities, planning, and regulation.
